BODAS Connect Mid-year Updates

Its already mid-year summer, and so many exciting new updates happened at BODAS Connect. Here is a quick recap of all the highlights till now.

Device Management

• The BODAS Connect Universal Flasher now also supports Ethernet. Now, additional to flashing software to 3^rd party devices compliant to the UDS standard in the vehicle CAN network, ECU flashing via the Ethernet network is also a breeze. Check out the demo on LinkedIn
• The new feature CAN Listen-Only Mode (LOM) sets configurable CAN nodes to "listen-only", such that no CAN messages are sent by the RCU on this bus. This helps to integrate the RCU into existing CAN networks and ensures that other, less robust CAN participants do not receive unexpected messages from the RCU.
• The new feature CAN Auto Baud Rate Detection (ABD) detects CAN baud rates automatically. This avoids the need for pre-configuration if more than two CAN participants communicate with each other on the bus. Just set the setting to default and eliminate the need to configure baud rate in json files.
• The new category Mobile Network Usage is available in the Device Portal. It serves to provide transparency about the data consumption per RCU / per fleet both on average and actual

Data Management

• The new feature set Geofence Events (beta status User Documentation) within Events & Notifications is now available!
• Fleet Owners can now monitor incoming signals from the machine and set up customized events and receive notifications based on specific triggers or conditions. With this feature, users can easily monitor and manage their IoT ecosystem, enhancing efficiency and enabling proactive decision-making.
• Fleet owners can define geofences via the user interface as circular or polygon format, enabling flexible business rules
• In the Machine Details dashboard, a new tabs for Events and Geofence is now available for viewing events
• In the Easy Customization view, a new section for managing Events & Notifications is available for setting up new events
• Disclaimer: The monitoring of geofence events is not designed as theft control

• The Streaming Pipeline has been improved for robustness of configuration updates
• The Dashboard 'Fleet Overview' has been updated to the new floating grid layout
  
  

RCU Lite

• The all new RCU Lite (RCU4-2L/5): a lighter RCU for all basic telematic functions is now available for ordering
  • The RCU Lite is a cost effective microcontroller device with integrated antennas (Bluetooth, WiFI, GSM, GPS) dedicated to provide basic standard connectivity i.e., read-out and transfer of CAN messages. For OTA services, our microprocessor based RCU Series 10 & 20 are available as always.
